About Assault Ou Studios:
Assault Ou Studios is a Graphic and Web design studio founded by Vernon Joyce in 2005. We have been expanding our knowledge of the design world ever since, growing better at what we love to do most. Currently Vernon Joyce is studying BTech graphic design at University of Johannesburg, while helping clients solve communication problems.
Our clients always come first, as they are the foundation of what we love to do. Assault Ou Studios aims to not specialize in a specific design discipline, but to rather be diverse and serve many different clients
Often people ask where the name comes from, well, here it is: Assault Ou Studios got its name from Counter-Strike: Source (a game). That game has a map called Assault. We were all playing the game and couldn't decide on a map, so one of us yelled Assault. Soon, a chorus of voices followed that said Assault Ou (Ou being the Afrikaans for dude). Soon this became something close to our hearts which is why the company is now called Assault Ou Studios. From this story our clients can learn about the personality of the company.

About Vernon Joyce:
Ever since I was little, I enjoyed drawing and painting and just making a mess. I always hear the story of how I drew on some expensive furniture at the Natal Drakensburg with my crayons. For a long time I also wanted to be a fireman, believe it or not! But I eventually realised that I could join my love for both art and computers into a single form. Graphic design manifested itself in my mind, and I have been practicing since I was around fourteen years old. I have been using computers since the age of seven, thus I can promise that my technical skills are second to none.
I am the main founder of Assault Ou Studios. I am also the studio's only web designer for the time being. I draw my inspiration from the amazing arts of Japan, and from my love of Anime, which is also a Japanese cultural item. I have been using Photoshop for quite some time now, and I love doing it more than anything in the world. As for web design, I have been doing it for almost just as long as with Photoshop, and I absolutely love it! The reason I started this studio, was so that I could freely express my creativity by solving people's communication problems.
I love the technical part of the job. I will always do my best to keep the clients happy, even though I hate talking over the phone. I also enjoy playing games, but note that this never interferes with my work. I am very dedicated when it comes to the industry, because I would sometimes work for hours without even noticing that it's already 3 AM. I plan to improve my knowledge. I believe in keeping an eye on the industry which is why I always buy design magazines.
My other sources of inspiration includes all of the people in my life, which I would like to thank for believing in what I am doing here. Music is also one of my biggest inspirations and I see it as a form of art. We hope to grow exponentially in the upcoming years, and to expand the boundaries of this company to reach a place that comes close to heaven. I believe in the ethics that relate to this company in an honourable manner, and I will forever treat everyone in the industry with respect. My design hero would have to be Nick La, as he shares similar interests, and because I like his style.
I really hope to see so much more of the lovely world of design and the internet, and I hope that if you're reading this, that you have a communication problem that I would love to solve. Take care.
